Delayed onset of ventricular fibrillation after low voltage electrical injury
- Zdravotnická záchranná služba Ústeckého kraje, Ústí nad Labem, Česká republika
Delayed onset of ventricular fibrillation is a very rare complication of low voltage electric shock. The authors present a case of a 23-year-old man with low voltage electrical injury with onset of ventricular fibrillation several minutes after the injury. The return of spontaneous circulation was reached after the third defibrillation shock and the patient left the hospital at his own request the day following the injury. The authors also describe the issue of monitoring of a patient affected by electric current. The aim of the case report is to point out the rarity of delayed onset of ventricular fibrillation after low voltage electrical injury.
