The nurse and nursing in ischemic heart disease secondary prevention

The aim was to highlight the possibilities as to how nurses may help in the secondary prevention of ischemic heart disease. In analysis of the results we found that in respondents from the group modifiable risk factors were reported in the following order: arterial hypertension, stress, dyslipidemia, obesity, poor diet, smoking, diabetes, physical inactivity. The information that respondents received from IHD nurses was considered sufficient. The low level of knowledge on self-reported diseases may be due to a lack of health awareness, which in turn also affects their attitude to the elimination of risk factors for IHD. Respondents presented sufficient information, but its application in life is not always the best. It is therefore necessary to increase participation in the microenvironment of patients, which should help patients adhere to the principles of good diet. The role of nurses cannot be significantly increased.
