Súčasné postavenie liekových balónov v intervenčnej kardiológii

Počet prípadov koronárnej choroby srdca v priebehu uplynulých rokov neustále narastá, a tým stúpa aj význam perkutánnej koronárnej intervencie ako dôležitého terapeutického postupu. Neustály pokrok v medicínskych technológiách neobchádza ani intervenčnú kardiológiu. Hoci čoraz populárnejšie liekové balóny (drug-coated balloons, DCB) nachádzajú uplatnenie v rôznych situáciách a dáta o ich účinnosti a bezpečnosti neustále pribúdajú, odporúčania kardiologických spoločností ich až na malé výnimky dlhodobo prehliadajú. Cieľom tohto článku je preto poskytnúť prehľad aktuálnych poznatkov v tejto oblasti s dôrazom na uplatnenie DCB v rámci revaskularizačných procedúr.
