Od decembra 2019 ochorenie COVID-19 spôsobené "novým vírusom" SARS-CoV-2 zásadne zmenilo fungovanie sveta. Zväčša je síce asymptomatické alebo sprevádzané miernymi príznakmi, máva však aj ťažký priebeh s následnou letalitou. Osobitne rizikoví voči tejto infekcii sú seniori. COVID-19 sa dominantne prejavuje postihnutím respiračného systému, často sú však poškodené aj iné orgánové systémy, medzi nimi kardiovaskulárny. V tejto stati ponúkame jeden z možných pohľadov na to, čo vieme o kardiovaskulárnych prejavoch COVID-19 u seniorov.
